[If he didn’t know the exact location of Matt’s room before, he’s going to find out in short order. He’ll bring one of his remaining bottles of single malt as a contribution. He knocks on the door, and when Matt answers:]
Bhliain nua sásta, mate. [He holds up the bottle.] In the spirit of giving.
[He’s wearing a simple tunic and trousers in the style of clothIng given to the new arrivals, along with his gold bracelet and a silver leaf pendant on a leather cord around his neck.]
[If asked, he'd give it freely, and greeted Cassidy in a deep blue suit vest and pants to match, a pressed light champagne colored shirt, and dark brown shoes that one could almost see their reflection off of amid the shifting shades of leather. Dark hair coiffed and styled, Matthew was the GQ image of handsome fashion, open collar and all.]
Then welcome to my matchbox of a home, come in, come in. I've nicked a few goblets, a spoon or three, and they do actually have pipes here. Apparently smoking really is multiversal.
[Once Cassidy was in, he closed the door and gestures at the bottle.] What's that then?
It was a silly idea but nothing that Airy hadn't done before. She liked showing people that she cared about them though this castle didn't seem like a particularly wise place to do that. After wrestling with what to do, Airy finally caved and walked to Cassidy's room with the small parcel she had purchased weeks ago. The object was wrapped in brown with a bit of twine holding it together. Airy was not going to get points for presentation.
Once at Cassidy's room, she inhaled, exhaled and then knocked lightly at the door.
"Hey, Cassidy? Are you free?" It was always a little nervewracking to go to someone's room, unsure if someone else is in there. Airy was very comfortable with pretending that other stuff didn't happen in the castle, despite knowing the opposite was true.
Airy was wearing one of the dresses that she had commissioned by the fairies and a pair of simple brown boots. She had thought about asking for her wardrobe but what about getting her powers back? She was thinking a little to hard about it and, because of that, hadn't decided what she wanted to do yet.
Without any structure to the days apart from scheduled meal times, and without even the veil of any sort of responsibilities to dance around, Cassidy's life in the castle had become a cobbled-together 'routine' of sex, drugs, eating, bathing, and sleeping, dictated by whichever he was most in the mood for at the moment.
He'd been in the middle of a cat nap on his bed when he heard the knock, and was groggily considering not answering it before he heard Airy's voice.
"Just a sec," he called out through the door. He'd been sleeping naked, which was nothing she'd never seen before, but he did have some consideration for public spaces such as hallways. It took him less than a minute to pull on a pair of grey sweatpants and a zip-up hoodie, which he left hanging open over his chest.
He answered the door with a smile, under sleepy eyes and bed-tossed hair. "Hello, you. What's goin' on?"
Airy's mouth tugged into a half smile when she saw Cassidy open up the door. "I woke you up." She knew him well enough to know what activity she had interrupted and his bed hair was kind of cute.
"Sorry." She didn't look all that apologetic about waking him. "I brought you something. A present. Which actually makes me wonder if vampires celebrate Birthdays..." Airy paused, squinted, and then waved away the thought. "That isn't why I'm here, I mean I did bring you something but not because of an event. I saw it and thought of you and wanted to give it to you."
She flashed him a wider smile. "Mind if I step inside? I'll get out of your hair but only after you open it."
[Airy decides to send Cassidy a short message and an accompanying picture from her tome. This isn't one of the days that they usually meet but she has something for him and she wants him to know it's there. It takes some finagling for Airy to get the image to show up in the crystal. The tome isn't exactly meant to send things like Snapchat.
The image that shows up in the crystal is a rather large bag of white powder. Cassidy doesn't have to guess very hard to realize that it is cocaine. He might also see the mess on Airy's floor or the small tent she's made over her bed. She might be a little loopy but she got the picture to him and is able to form a quick message to accompany it.]
Foooor you! They also gave me clothes. So now you can see all my amazing jeans with cute shirts or the TMNT t-shirt i Have. I think I have a Sonic shirt in here to. It's like they raided my closet or something.
1. <3 2. Oh cool! 3. Yes it is... I wanted to try a little bit of the coke I had got for you to see if it was different and this was what came out of it.
That and a lot of giggling. I also created these weird light spheres that have been floating around my room.
Airy blotted up in her bed, her fingers curled around her sheets as the fabric clung to her chest and legs. She was breathing hard with a thin layer of sweat beating across her skin. It took her a moment to run a towel down her frame and put on a pair of monkey pajama's that she'd gotten after asking for a familiar wardrobe. The fabric was a comforting touch and with a quick look around, Airy dashed into the hallway.
It wasn't a far walk between her room and Cassidy's. They were in different wings but all of the wings were relatively close together. She had told him that she'd be arriving at his door but what if it had really been a dream? She swallowed a thick nervous lump in her throat before knocking at the door.
"Cass?" Her voice was a little shaken before she pushed the door open and made her way inside. If she was going to keep finding herself in others dreams she might ask Cassidy if she can bunk with him until it all blows over. At least she'll have someone to cling to, fuck or smoke with when she woke up.
Cassidy's own awakening hadn't been quite so dramatic — still, it was a rare morning that he went so abruptly from asleep to awake, with a sudden inhale and a momentary sense of disorientation as he started blinking his eyes open. Where in the hell was he...?
His room in the castle. Winter Wing. Right. Because this was reality, after all. Not New York, or New Orleans. Not anymore.
"Jesus," he sighed, scrubbing a hand over his eyes to squeeze the sleep out. That had easily been the most vivid dreaming experience he'd had in years. Maybe decades.
He turned his head to one side, and for a handful of seconds, watched Pudge 'swim' around in his water-less fishbowl. Not only had the dream been vividly detailed, Cassidy found that he remembered it with perfect clarity. He'd told Airy to come and find him, that he'd show her Pudge's new trick.
Weird, weird bloody dream. This wasn't one of their days, he didn't think, but maybe he'd check in on her anyway, just to put his mind at ease...
Knock, knock. "Cass?"
Cassidy was just starting to sit up when the door started to open. She was actually here. Coincidence?
Nope. As soon as he saw her, he knew. It was all over her face. And then the knowing was all over his.
"...oh, Christ." His voice was still groggy from sleep, but the astonishment came through. It had all been real.
"Yeah." Airy closed the door behind her and then quickly closed the space between them. She knew that they had fallen asleep together in the dream but she wanted to hold him again and to know that he was really there.
Her arms circled Cassidy's waist as her face nuzzled against his chest.
"I didn't want to believe that it had happened but I knew. Um..." She bit her lower lip, worrying at the flesh. "Does that mean the dream I had earlier, that happened to, didn't it? With Denis?" She wanted to ask if Denis really existed or if he was a fantasy of Cassidy's but too many questions zoomed around her thoughts and she didn't know where to start.
So she hugged him tight and tried to hope that the moment wouldn't end.
[There's a short delay before Cassidy answers. He's been testing out one of the THC concentrates he whipped up in the lab. It's so aggressively potent that, for the first time in a while, he is very, very stoned on nothing but Mary-Jane.
So he has to read her message a few times to make sure he's comprehending it. And then he has to spend a couple of minutes forming his answer, making sure it sounds like something a human being would write.]
NeverLands. 1 hour.
♥
[When she arrives, she’ll find him sat on one of the couches in the lounge, smoking a normal cigarette. He looks up when he hears the bell ring, preparing to stand and go into customer service mode... but it’s her. He relaxes back, gives her a sympathetic look, and extends his arm over the back of the couch.]
Airy had been making preparations all week and had been super duper sneaky about it too. Spending the night had been a coy way to be the first person to wish Cassidy a happy birthday... not that Airy thought many people in the castle knew when Cassidy's birthday was. It was still an honor that she wanted and she took it greedily.
"Good morning birthday boy." She smiled a bit, happy to be herself again. There were knots of worry in her chest, disappointment and fears but today was Cassidy's birthday and she wanted to spend all of her energy focusing on him.
"Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday dear Cassidy. Happy One hundred and twentieth birthday to you." Airy sang the familiar song as she pressed a kiss to Cassidy's cheek.
"Wakie wakie. I have plans for you today. It'll be fun but we can take our time. So if there is anything you want to do then let me know. Whatever we don't do I'll save for your birthday next year... or tomorrow." Airy smiled and pressed a kiss against his shoulder.
"I love you. Oh! I also have a present for you but you can't open it here. So let me know when you want that and we can go to where you can open it."
She was just as excited about Cassidy's birthday as she was about her own birthday. Airy really loved birthdays.
Cassidy was not generally great with mornings. His body never quite wanted to wake up — where everything other than his mind was concerned, he was almost literally sleeping the sleep of the dead. These days, his heart often stayed active overnight, which helped... but still left him with a moment of stiffness in his limbs, a moment of remembering how to work lhis fingers and the muscles in his face. Airy kissed his face, then his shoulder, and he scrunched his eyes tight until he saw stars behind them.
“Izzit kidnappin’ time already?” His voice was groggy and sleep-heavy, but not irritated. He’d expected something like this. If he had to get woken up, the sound of her singing to him was just about the sweetest thing he could think of. With his eyes still closed, he lifted a hand and groped to find her head, to thread his fingers into her hair.
Airy sat at the foot of the bed with her legs crossed beneath her. She was wearing one of Cassidy's shirts and nothing underneath it. It didn't cover her hips or anything below the waist but they were in bed and Airy wasn't worried about a dress code.
She leaned forward and crawled to where Cassidy was sitting against the headboard. Smoke curled from the ashtray on the nightstand as she placed her lips next to Cassidy's ear and spoke in a light sultry whisper. "It started like this. We were standing close with her body against mine and she whispered in my ear." Airy nibbled at Cassidy's earlobe before sitting back with a warm smile.
"I did like it. I was thinking of asking a woman here with you but I don't know who I'd be comfortable with. Someone gentle. I don't know why but I think I liked it because it was gentle. Like, I like it when you're really rough with me but a woman is softer than that."
Cassidy had been down to boxer briefs and nothing else ever since Airy had stolen his shirt.
He felt the shell of his ear tingling as she put her lips next to it. He wasn't feeling a whole lot other than tingles in various parts of his body. His lips, the tips of his fingers, a little bit in his balls. And she was talking about a girl whispering in her ear. Which he had to agree was a very pleasant experience.
He watched her face as she sat back. She had her thinking face on - the way she always looked when she was talking herself through an idea.
"Sounds like you been givin' this some thought." He'd like to hear more.
