She was at least an excited broken record.

"Ah!" Airy giggled and stopped singing as Cassidy tangled them in the sheets. She felt his weight and when she tried to move her legs, she found that one was trapped under Cassidy and the other was wrapped in the sheets like a mummy's foot. Her hips could wiggle a bit but Airy wasn't sure if she could do that without getting wildly distracted. One arm was pinned but the other was free.

With one arm! She would plan her escape.

"Cassidy!" Airy wiggled again but it didn't do much. "I can't take you away." She poked his cheek with her free hand. "You're too heavy and my foot is stuck." If she tried to stand up now, she was going to trip and fall.

"Y'know what, I think you may not be a very effective kidnapper."

He lifted himself, enough to no longer be a dead weight on her, and to look her in the eyes. "How come I can't open me present here, hm?"

He might be having a little too much fun with this already.

Airy was also beginning to think that she wasn't a very effective kidnapper but felt like a tiny inconvenience that wasn't really going to get in the way.

She smiled up at him, though she was trying her best to pout, and raised a hand up so that Cassidy could peek into her palm. "But it doesn't have a bow on it yet." Thick curls of ribbon begin to twist in Airy's hand in bright red and purple hues. When it's done, she's flushed and holding a brilliantly elaborate bow.

"Ta-da~"

"And you still gotta wrap it? I thought you'd put plannin' into this."

Too far? At least the teasing look in his eyes softened when the bright, shiny ribbon started to curl into existence in her hand. He watched until she announced its completion, then decided that was impressive enough to let her go.

"All right — go on then." He loosened his grip and rolled back off of her, as best he could with his own arm pinned by the sheets. At least she should be able to get up now without falling out of bed.

"I did!" She placed the bow on her abdomen and then curled her wrists up towards the ceiling. As Cassidy was rolling off her he'd feel both of them lift into the air. The sheets were brought up with them though they slowly began to untangle and crumble back to the bed.

"You can't really wrap this."

Airy supposed she could have tried but that would have been incredibly difficult.

"Mmm." She hummed thoughtfully as she turned and wrapped her arms around Cassidy's waist. "I should have probably let us get dressed first." She nuzzled against his chest as they gently floated three feet above the bed.

Oh — oh, right. She'd promised she was going to make him fly. So... now, here he was, hovering in midair with his magical girlfriend nuzzling up to him. It was one of those moments that felt so surreal, it almost overwhelmed him.

At least he was really awake now.

"Oh — yeah, right. We ought t'get dressed before we do that."

His lizard brain had taken notice of the fact that he wasn't actually lying on anything. It wasn't screaming about it, but it was making some very confused noises. Cassidy gave Airy a light tap on the back of her head.

"All right. I'm awake now. Let's go, let's do this."

Airy's arms wrapped around his waist as they floated lazily above the bed. The bow was crushed against him but she didn't really care about that. She just liked feeling him and letting him know that she was happy that he was born.

"Does that mean I should let us down?" She kissed his neck and then his clavicle while wiggling her legs to free them both of the bed's sheets.

"I'm okay with taking things slowly for you if you want."

Her tone was warm and teasing. She was in a good mood and it showed in every subtle movement of her body against his. She also did have a physical present for him but it was hidden in her closet so that he wouldn't be able to find it and it'd take some time to dig out.

The sheets fell away from them. All the way away. She was cuddled up to and curled against him and they were floating. Cassidy felt like he didn't know what to do with his limbs. He tried to just let them relax... and his arms settled around her back.

"Right." Taking things slowly. When she'd already sung him awake and levitated him off the mattress. "Airy, love, you have now got me hoverin' in midair. We're breakin' the laws of physics and we've not even got out of bed. This is already, totally, the most incredible birthday I've ever had."

Airy kissed his chest and gently turned them so that their feet were facing the ground. She pushed them towards the center of the room and then lowered them both to the floor. Airy grinned up at Cassidy, clearly very proud of herself.

"I've been practicing." Just for him. "You can control where you go too. You just need to imagine when you float in water. If you shift your weight. You'll move us." Of course, now they were on the floor so he'd have to remember that for later.

"Get dressed." She rose onto the tips of her toes and kissed his cheek. "First. We're going to a place where you will absolutely lose track of time so present and then place and then club and then we'll see what time it is."

"Done." He gave her a sharp, serious nod: present, place, club sounded like a solid plan. He only needed to get dressed first. His clothes had simply been dropped by the side of the bed last night, so that part would be easy.

Jeans, a graphic t-shirt, and a red flannel. Cassidy had found his wardrobe adjusting as the weather got colder, and the fairies had put more than a couple of flannel pieces in there. Whether they'd done it on purpose because Airy liked plaid so much, he couldn't say.

Airy pulled on the blue cowboy shirt that she'd gotten Cassidy as well as the hat to complete the costume. She looked more than a little smug as she tipped her head down with her finger and spoke in the worlds worst western accent. "I reckon' that we should be off then. Got lots to do before the sun goes down."

A beat.

"And lots to do after that."

Before Airy actually left, she dashed into her closest and pulled out a brown nondescript box. There was a little note on the top that reads 'please hope that Cassidy doesn't find this'. It'd been a perfect hiding spot. "So, there will be more but this is all I could get to give you today."

Cassidy couldn't help pulling a face at the accent. Didn't exactly try to help it, even if he was keeping his mouth shut. Clearly someone hadn't been practicing with Matt.

He didn't exactly make a habit of rifling through Airy's things, so the closet would have been a fine enough hiding spot. When she brought over the gift, he was in the process of pulling on his Doc Martens, and he delayed tying them so he could accept the plain brown box. He sent an anticipatory smile her way as he started to open up the lid.

"Let's see what we've got, here..."

Airy hadn't practiced her western accent at all but it was the thought that counted. That and she'd been waiting for an excuse to wear Cassidy's cowboy hat because it was a cool looking hat and she thought that'd it'd be a lot of fun to wear.

"I hope you like it."

Inside he'll find a Golden Game Boy Color with a little Pikachu sticker on the bottom left screen. It was one of the limited addition ones and the one that Airy had when she'd been younger. She had never really played it but her brother had threatened to steal it several times so she thought it was a good gift for Cassidy now. With it was a handful of Pokemon games as well as a handful of Mario, Kirby and other old school game boy games.

"Do you like it?"

"Oh my God."

He lifted the console out of the box and turned it over, flashed another smile her way.

"I never actually had one of these. I had some of those bloody shite handheld games in the 90s, y'know, the ones that were only one game, and all ya could do was jump, punch, and kick bad guys."

He put an arm around her shoulders. In other words: "It's awesome."

"So it's good?"

Airy released a short giggle as Cassidy wrapped an arm around her shoulders. She nuzzled against him, smiling as he inspected the gameboy. "I thought it'd be good to have at the house. Not full on games, we'll get those but a start. You can also keep it at Neverland if you ever need to take a break there."

She was always thinking ahead.

"But so we don't lose it, we should probably leave it here for today."

“Oh yeah, this’ll be great at NeverLands,” he mused as he set down the console and shuffled through the games, checking out what she’d got him — classic Mario, Zelda — until she suggested leaving the gameboy behind. It made sense. She wouldn’t want him glued to a screen all day, she had plans.

“Yeah, right.” He took one last look at the present and set the box aside on Airy’s nightstand. “Just put it there for safekeepin’...”

Then he set about tying his boot laces. It was the last thing he’d need to do before they left.

"You want to take it with us don't you?" Airy looked like she was about to laugh. "Just so you know, there are more presents. I mean, this was my favorite but there is more." Tomorrow she expected him to spend most of the day with his face focused on the gameboy... at which she'll play her favorite game of trying to distract Cassidy while he played games with inappropriate touching.

"And if you don't like what I have planned then we'll come back and play games." She slipped on a pair of boots and then grabbed Cassidy's hand. Airy didn't bother putting on a bra or messing with her hair. The hat made her hair look like it was messy and curly on purpose. The shirt was tight and everyone would notice that Airy wasn't wearing a bra the moment it got cold but Airy didn't really care. That kind of thing was common in the castle of sex.

"It does involve getting high but with something new. I think you'll like it."

Airy's been doing secret research.

Did he want to take the gameboy? A little bit, but not enough to insist on it. And once she started teasing her other plans, pulling him away and through the castle corridors, he started getting intrigued.

"Somethin' new?" Given that he'd sampled most of the drugs known to humankind and a couple known to the Fae, he couldn't guess what she meant by that.

"Yup! I found it and tested it and I think you're going to like it." She grabbed his hand and tugged softly. "Come on. Oh! We do need to make two stops on the way to where we're going so I might have you close your eyes then." Not that he would be able to guess that she's picking up an order of burgers and fries at the dinner, as well as the drugs that she wanted to introduce him too.

Where they were going was the best part and it'd take Airy nearly a month to set it up. It wouldn't have actually taken that long except that she had a three day emotional interruption.

He couldn't imagine where she'd got it from. He couldn't imagine what it was. Even after close to a year in this place, he was still naturally skeptical that anything new still existed.

So he'd believe it when he saw it, but he wasn't seeing it yet.

"So there's a couple of places before the place before the club, then?" he asked, like he was trying to keep this complex plan all straight in his head.

"Yup!" Airy said nothing more. She lead him from her room, her boots scuffing against the chilled stone floor as she lead him out of the castle. Their first stop was towards the top left of the village, a little bit past Neverlands. She had him close his eyes as she dashed inside and returned with a silky navy blue bag. Then they were on their way again.

The next location was the dinner but Airy tried to make it not be so obvious. Again, she had him close his eyes and dashed inside. This time she returned with a large paper bag that smelled of burgers and fries. There was no hiding the smell so she had Cassidy carry that bag the rest of the way.

Where they were headed was the biggest surprise that Airy had in store for him. She'd worked on it since she learned his birthday and then had to move the whole set up to a place in the village were they'd be secluded and not anywhere near the monster that's tromping around in the woods.

"Okay. Close your eyes. This is the last time, promise." She waited until his eyes were closed and then pressed a light tender kiss against his lips. "Good." Airy guided him from there, watching his feet as she broke through the under brush. Cassidy would feel a soft warm breeze touch his face as Airy turns and positions him for the perfect view.

She had him stand there for a few minutes, putting some last minute touches on his surprise, and then she finally told him that he could open his eyes.

They were surrounded by tall trees that looked like palm trees bent inward. It was an area that was several yards across and it was filled with perfectly soft sand. It wasn't the ocean but a small pound that Airy had found in the woods while floating above it was a soccer ball sized sun. It didn't hurt Cassidy but it did make the whole area feel like they were on a tropical island.

"Happy Birthday Cassidy. I wanted to bring you to the beach so... I made one."

He tried to cheat a little after their first stop, after she came out with that silky-looking bag. He glanced around over his shoulder, to try and see where she'd just come from... though he wouldn't be able to see much before she pulled him away. The second stop was so obvious, he only accepted the bag of food and let her lead on.

She was leading him into the Wilds, and he felt a warm breeze on his face. Where was that coming from? They were on the edge of Winter, here...

...only there so happened to be an oasis out here. Cassidy found his eyes drawn to the edge, where the sand stopped and the Wilds started up again. Like the beach had been cut out of the landscape. He squinted and blinked up at the ball of light that hovered over the space, glowing just like a sun.

"Look at that." He took a couple of steps forward. The sand shifted under the soles of his boots, and he turned back to smile at her, to tug her closer so he could direct his smile down at her in kissing range. "Me own private tropical vacation. Thanks very much."

"Does that mean you like it?" Airy smiles and presses a light kiss to his cheek. It's probably silly to make it feel like summer in the middle of winter but Airy laughs in the face of seasons. ... like the scene from the Lion King but without hyenas.

She leans against him and wraps her arms around his waist. "We don't have to stay here all day or anything but I thought it'd be fun to be lazy, feel the water and try these." She wiggled the navy blue silk bag. "I haven't tried them out but they're supposed to be a mixture of weed and possibly Viagra... they described it better." It was a type of euphoria that sounded interesting when the fairy had described it to her.

Airy also planned to do some other stuff while they were alone but she was still letting Cassidy take the lead with what he wanted to do.

He enfolded her in his arms when she leaned close. "You made me a bloody beach. I love it."

But with his flannel and boots on, it was starting to get a little warm. He stepped back to shed the long-sleeved shirt and drop it onto the sand, just before lowering himself into a sitting position and starting to unlace his boots. His eyebrows lifted as he contemplated the mystery drug's effects — weed and Viagra, eh?

"I guess ya couldn't wait 'til summer to have a bit of fun in the sun, could ya?" he teased, looking toward her with a wicked smirk.

"Maybe." Airy felt her cheeks burn with heat as she stepped towards the edge of her little beach and began to kick off her shoes and pants. She kept the hat on as well as Cassidy's shirt. It made it look like she'd just rolled out of bed and onto the sand.

"I didn't think you'd be against it." She was sure that Cassidy knew of the hookah-like fairy store but she didn't think he went there all that often. Since opening his own drug shop, he didn't need too.

She placed the bag on the sand and stretched out on the warm sand. It felt great and Airy didn't really mind the prospect of getting sand everywhere.
